Full Job Description Job Description:
This position is responsible for the safe operation of drilling equipment to prepare for blasting operations. This role requires a thorough understanding of drilling equipment, ground conditions, and safety protocols. The operator will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the equipment, following instructions from supervisors and technical department, and accurately documenting drilling activities.Primary Responsibilities:
- Safely operate hammer drill rigs
- Match air and fluid pressures to rock and soil conditions
- Position, align, and stabilize machinery safely on work sites
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of drill including inspect drill components, check fluid levels, perform routine preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot basic mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical issues
- Follow all Company, customer, and MSHA safety rules and regulations including company required documentation of activities
- Properly use PPE
- Keep drill rig clean and functional
- Complete daily drill logs per Company and customer policies
Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of three years' experience
- Experience accurately following designed and laid out drill patterns
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Must be willing to travel including overnight travel
- 50+ hours per week expected
- Physical and drug test required
