Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled HDD Driller to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground utilities efficiently and accurately. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy machinery and contribute to large-scale infrastructure developments. A strong mechanical aptitude, experience with construction site operations, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role. We are currently looking for candidates for the Shreveport, Louisiana job sight location. Duties Operate Ditch Witch JT 20 to install underground utilities such as water, sewer, and electrical lines with precision. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance. Assist in site preparation activities by operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery to clear and level land for drilling operations. Coordinate with project managers and crew members to plan drilling routes and ensure safety protocols are followed throughout the construction process. Use technical knowledge of construction equipment and materials to troubleshoot issues quickly and minimize downtime during operations. Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, equipment usage, safety checks, and project progress for reporting purposes. Adhere strictly to safety standards and environmental regulations while operating machinery such as horizontal drills, graders, tankers, and paving equipment. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, paving machines, and Caterpillar machinery. Proven experience operating horizontal directional drills (HDD) for utility installation projects. Valid commercial driver's license with experience driving heavy vehicles such as dump trucks or water trucks on construction sites. Hands-on experience with excavation work and site preparation using excavators or backhoes. Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Ability to operate grading equipment like graders or dozers for land leveling tasks. Familiarity with construction materials and techniques related to paving and utility installation projects.
