Job Description

Position Summary The Equipment Operator keeps the crew moving efficiently by loading drill spoils, moving material and tooling to where they to be and exactly when they are needed. They also assist with drilling and pouring operations. The position travels the US from Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, to New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and beyond. Please note that you are an active crew member on a drilling crew, not solely an equipment operator. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other responsibilities as necessary. Maintenance & Inspections Perform daily inspections of the boom truck (hydraulics, cables, outriggers, safety systems) Conduct routine maintenance and report mechanical issues Equipment Operation Operate a loaders, skid steers or related equipment to remove drill spoils or related dirt work Position drilling tools, casings, and other materials Safely load and unload equipment from trucks and trailers Maneuver loads into precise positions at drilling sites Material Handling & Logistics Transport materials (steel casing, augers, concrete forms, etc) to and around the job site Assist in staging materials for drilling crews Handle rig components during setup and teardown Drive the equipment to and from job sites Support for Drilling Crew Work closely with drill operators and laborers during foundation installation Help assemble/disassemble drilling equipment Occasionally assist with rigging and signaling Maintenance & Inspections Perform daily equipment inspections (hydraulics, cables, outriggers, safety systems) Conduct routine maintenance and report mechanical issues Qualifications Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement Prior experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in support of drilling operations Must be 21+ years old for interstate CDL travel Willingness to travel (company pays per diem and travel expenses) Experience around heavy equipment is a plus but not required Strong decision‑making skills and a proactive mindset Team‑oriented attitude with a commitment to safety Ability to pass company paid background check, drug screen, and DOT screenings. Strictly adhere to all safety requirements, not only for yourself but for the team around. Work Environment This role involves hands-on work at active construction sites, primarily outdoors and exposed to a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind. You will operate in environments with uneven terrain, heavy equipment, and ongoing construction activity. The position requires physical stamina, awareness of surroundings, and the ability to follow safety procedures at all times. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. You should be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, adapting to changing site conditions, and communicating clearly with crew members and supervisors. Flexibility and a strong commitment to safety are essential.
