What You'll Do:
Train, and supervise employees as necessary to keep fully staffed crew available for assigned tour; Direct drilling crew in setting up and operating power units, draw works, and other drilling equipment; monitor all air-, hydraulic, mechanical-, and electrical-powered rig operations.

Operate Drillers console, control panel of brake, clutches, throttles, and cathead by hand and foot monitors gauges to perform all rig operations, including drilling, tripping, and fishing.

Operate boom line and air hoist/hydraulic hoists to lift and move heavy supplies, equipment, and pipe.

Move casing or drill pipe joints to and from pipe racks, catwalk, ramp, and rig floor as required.

Remain alert to underground gas pressure which may lead to blowouts; prevent blowouts by activating emergency control unit if necessary.

Keep record of supplies and chemicals used on each shift and reports to management; order supplies, equipment, and material as needed and as authorized.

Monitor drilling record; calculate (by hand or machine) mud record, bit record, drilling assembly record, and pipe tally and reports to management.

Perform routine and preventive rig servicing, repair, and maintenance, including scrubbing and painting, when operations do not require presence on rig floor.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or AbilitiesFive to seven (5-7) years of prior experience on a drilling rig; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to be certified in IADC well sharp Drilling Operations Driller and supervisory level coursesAdditional Eligibility Qualifications English language fluency, verbal and written.

Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
