Directional Driller / HDD Operator

Join a Team Building Critical Utility Infrastructure Across Southern Nevada Terra Contracting is a growing underground utility contractor specializing in fiber optic, natural gas, and power infrastructure projects. We partner with major utility providers throughout Southern Nevada to install and maintain the underground networks that keep communities connected and powered. We are currently seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator (HDD) to support underground fiber optic construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment, working safely in utility environments, and collaborating with field crews to deliver successful installations. Essential Responsibilities Operate Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment safely and efficiently. Perform underground bore installations for fiber optic conduit and utility infrastructure. Read and follow utility plans, bore profiles, and job specifications. Coordinate closely with utility locators and crew members to ensure safe drilling operations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment and vehicles. Transport drilling equipment, tooling, and materials to project sites. Monitor drilling conditions and make adjustments as needed to maintain bore accuracy. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and utility owner requirements. Qualifications Required Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as project demands require. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Previous HDD / Directional Drilling experience. Experience in underground utility construction. Knowledge of fiber optic construction practices. Experience working around existing underground utilities. CDL Class A or Class

B. OSHA 10
