Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an HDD Drill Operator specializing in underground utilities and fiber optic construction! In this vital role, you will operate horizontal drilling equipment to install underground cables and utilities efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help build reliable infrastructure that connects communities and supports modern communication networks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy machinery on innovative projects that make a real impact. Duties Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machines to install underground utilities, fiber optic cables, and other infrastructure components. Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machinery to ensure optimal performance. Follow project plans and specifications to accurately guide underground installations while adhering to safety standards and environmental regulations. Coordinate with construction teams to prepare sites, set up equipment, and execute drilling operations smoothly. Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, equipment maintenance, and safety checks for compliance and reporting purposes. Assist with other construction tasks as needed, including site preparation, material handling, and supporting utility installation efforts. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machinery. Proven experience operating horizontal directional drills or similar underground utility installation equipment. Solid understanding of construction site safety procedures and environmental protocols. Ability to perform basic maintenance on heavy machinery and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently. Valid commercial driver's license with experience driving large construction vehicles is preferred. Familiarity with construction site operations including excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation processes. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and following detailed project instructions. Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
