Job description: Massive Services LLC is seeking an experienced Directional Driller Locator to support our HDD crews in the installation of underground utilities including fiber, electric, water, and gas systems. This role is critical to the success of each bore. The Locator is responsible for tracking the drill head, maintaining proper line and grade, and ensuring safe and accurate installation. We are looking for individuals who can communicate clearly with the driller, stay focused under pressure, and consistently hit production and accuracy targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Track and locate drill head using Digitrak, Subsite, or similar locating systems Maintain proper line, grade, and depth throughout the bore Communicate constantly with the driller to ensure accuracy and avoid conflicts Read and interpret bore plans, profiles, and utility locates Verify existing utilities and maintain safe clearances Set up and calibrate locating equipment before each bore Assist with potholing, site prep, and general crew support as needed Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures

Qualifications:

2+ years of HDD locating experience preferred Experience with Digitrak or similar locating systems required Strong understanding of underground utilities and safe excavation practices Ability to read and follow bore plans and job specifications Good communication and teamwork skills Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)

Preferred Skills:

Ability to run small bores or step in as a driller if needed Experience in rock or difficult ground conditions Mechanical understanding of HDD equipment Experience working on fiber, power, or pipeline projects

Work Environment:

Outdoor construction sites in all weather conditions Physically demanding, including walking long distances, standing, and lifting
