Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled 1099 Painter/Drywall Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse residential, commercial, and industrial projects, delivering high-quality painting and drywall finishing services. As a 1099 contractor, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert surface preparation, precise painting techniques, and seamless drywall finishing. Your expertise will help create visually appealing environments that meet client specifications and safety standards, contributing to the success of each project from start to finish. Duties Prepare construction surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and drywall finish quality Execute a variety of painting techniques including brush, roller, spray (conventional and airless), and specialized coating applications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects Finish drywall by taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to achieve smooth surfaces ready for painting or further finishing Interpret technical drawings and project specifications to accurately execute painting layouts and drywall details Use hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment safely to reach high or difficult areas while adhering to all safety regulations Apply caulking, trim carpentry, stucco finishes, and fixture installation as needed during renovation or remodeling projects Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of debris and ensuring all tools are in good working condition Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing respiratory protection and other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to prevent injuries on site Skills 2 years preferred experience in construction painting surface preparation, spray painting (including airless sprayers), brush and roller application Strong knowledge of color theory to match palettes accurately for aesthetic consistency Proficiency in drywall finishing techniques such as taping, mudding, sanding, texturing and plastering for seamless surfaces Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints for precise application of coatings and finishes Skilled in using hand tools (putty knives, sanders), power tools (drills, saws), scaffolding equipment, ladders, and other necessary tools safely Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines Knowledge of safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols and site-specific safety procedures Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and calculating material quantities Experience with renovation projects involving fixture installation, trim carpentry, stucco application, concrete finishing or maintenance tasks is a plus Strong attention to detail with an eye for visual color comparison to ensure high-quality finishes across all surfaces Join us if you're passionate about craftsmanship and eager to contribute your skills in a fast-paced construction environment.
