Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sheetrocker/Painter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing drywall (also known as sheetrock), finishing surfaces, and applying paint to enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of residential and commercial spaces. Your expertise will contribute to transforming spaces through precise craftsmanship, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about construction, renovation, and creating visually appealing environments. Duties Measure, cut, install, and secure drywall sheets on walls and ceilings following blueprints and schematics Finish drywall joints using taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing techniques to achieve smooth surfaces Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer or sealant before painting Apply paint, stains, or finishes using brushes, rollers, airless sprayers or other power tools to achieve desired color effects and coverage Perform plastering and caulking to ensure seamless joints and weatherproofing of surfaces Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute installation and finishing tasks in accordance with project specifications Utilize hand tools such as saws, drills, trowels, sanders, and power tools safely and efficiently during all phases of work Assist with renovation projects by performing carpentry tasks like trim carpentry, framing, or fixture installation when needed Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the project lifecycle Skills Extensive experience with construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and materials needed Strong knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate paint colors and finishes that complement design plans Proven ability in residential and commercial painting projects with attention to detail and quality standards Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, welding equipment, and masonry tools for various construction tasks Solid understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, construction drawings, and technical specifications Skilled in plastering, stucco application, restoration work, and industrial painting techniques Familiarity with renovation processes including framing, drywall installation, trim carpentry, fixture installation, concrete finishing, masonry work, and maintenance tasks Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during estimating or on-site adjustments Experience with construction site safety protocols including working at heights or in confined spaces Handyman experience is a plus for versatile task handling across different trades within the project scope Join our team if you're eager to build beautiful spaces while honing your skills in a fast-paced environment!
