Position Summary The Multiskilled Trades Specialist 2 performs journey level trade specific duties and responsibilities in the maintaining, repair, and construction of College buildings. Completes demolitions and remodels. Removes wall partitions and installs new walls. Repairs and replaces doors, windows, and flooring. Completes all stages of drywall installation. Provides roof repair and maintenance. Perform major tree pruning. The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel. This job may have On-call rotation duties. Duties & Responsibilities Repairs, maintains, and installs new fire rated doors. Repairs and replaces fire rated automatic door closers Frames metal studs and installs drywall. Installs and repairs drywall wall partitions. Textures and paints as needed Replaces and installs carpet squares and tile flooring Remodels classrooms and offices using blueprints in compliance with international building codes. Assists other staff on joint building and remodel projects Inspects and repairs campus roofing Perform major tree pruning Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor Job Requirements/Qualifications High school diploma or GED and Three to five years of related journey level trade experience or An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

Vocational or technical training Five plus years of related journey level trade experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of skilled trades expertise required to complete assigned responsibilities for the position Skill in effective communication (both written and oral) Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature Ability to adapt and maintain professional composure in emergent and crisis situations Ability to operate relevant equipment required to complete assigned responsibilities for the position

Physical:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an non-traditional work setting; to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally position self to perform duties, including: traversing uneven surfaces, ascending/descending ladders, and working atop high surfaces; to move, transport, and/or position moderate to heavy (over 50 pounds) amounts of weight; to operate various equipment required to perform job; may be required to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to effectively communicate to exchange information. May be exposed to various hazardous conditions such as extreme heat, extreme cold, infectious disease, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, tight spaces, or high places, moving mechanical parts, etc.
