Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable independent contractor (1099) to join our team as a Drywall Installer & Finisher. Drywall Installer & Finisher / Contractor As a contractor, you will be responsible for completing a variety of residential and commercial maintenance, drywall installation, drywall finishing, and painting projects with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Perform general handyman services, including but not limited to painting, paint touch-ups, drywall repair, drywall installation, drywall finishing, and other maintenance tasks. Hang, tape, mud, texture, sand, and finish drywall surfaces to meet client and industry quality standards. Install corner bead, reinforcement materials, and drywall accessories as required. Identify and correct imperfections, including cracks, seams, nail pops, and surface irregularities. Prepare drywall surfaces for final paint, texture, or other coatings. Perform paint touch-ups, spot repairs, priming, and finish painting as required to complete repairs and renovations. Match existing paint colors and textures when performing repair work. Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard. Communicate effectively regarding work order status, project progress, and material requirements. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Follow all safety protocols and local regulations. Provide accurate time and cost estimates and ensure timely project completion. Manage your own schedule, equipment, and tools.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a handyman, drywall installer, drywall finisher, painter, or in a similar trade. Demonstrated ability to hang, tape, mud, sand, texture, and finish drywall to a professional standard. Demonstrated experience with interior painting, paint touch-ups, priming, and color matching. Own your own business and/or be willing to provide proof of general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Must provide and maintain personal drywall finishing and painting tools. Strong communication and customer service skills. Reliable transportation and necessary tools for the job. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Ability to perform physical job duties, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces. Ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with home improvement, remodeling, restoration, or property maintenance companies on residential and commercial properties. Experience matching textures, performing drywall repairs, preparing surfaces for paint, and completing paint touch-ups. Experience working from scopes of work, punch lists, and maintenance work orders. This is an Independent Contractor opportunity. We do not offer any benefits or guarantee any set compensation.
