As a Painting Subcontractor, you will play a vital role in transforming spaces through expert application of paint and finishes, ensuring client satisfaction and project excellence. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer as needed. Execute painting tasks using hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and other necessary tools to achieve smooth, even finishes. Read blueprints and schematics to determine project scope, color schemes, and specific requirements for each job. Apply various coatings including industrial paint, stucco, masonry finishes, and restoration treatments with precision. Install fixtures, trim carpentry elements, and perform drywall or plaster repairs to ensure seamless surfaces before painting. Manage construction site safety protocols while maintaining efficiency on busy renovation or remodeling sites. Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects within scope and quality standards. Skills Extensive experience in residential and commercial painting projects with knowledge of construction estimating processes. Strong understanding of color theory to help clients select the right hues for their spaces. Proficiency in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, and putty knives; familiarity with power tools including sprayers and sanders. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately for precise application. Knowledge of plastering, stucco application, masonry finishing, and restoration techniques for diverse surfaces. Experience with renovation projects involving framing carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall installation, and fixture installation. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; familiarity with schematics for industrial or specialized coatings. Skilled in handling construction site safety standards while working efficiently on scaffolding or elevated platforms. Additional handyman experience such as welding or concrete finishing is a plus for versatile project support.
