Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting students with special needs for the 2026-2027 academic year in a school setting near Rochester, MI. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll play a vital part in fostering learning, growth, and inclusion, making a daily difference in the lives of your students. Key Qualifications:
Current Special Education teaching certification valid for the state of Michigan Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Special Education, or a related field Proven experience with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, staff, and related service professionals Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to diverse learning needs Patience, empathy, and a solution-focused approach to classroom management
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and execute engaging lesson plans for students with varying abilities and needs Monitor and document student progress, regularly updating IEP goals and objectives Work collaboratively with other educators to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student achievements, concerns, and strategies for continued growth Participate in professional development and ongoing training sessions throughout the school year Foster a positive, safe, and respectful learning atmosphere This opportunity is a 37.5-hour-per-week position beginning August 22, 2026, and concluding June 6, 2027.
