Full-Time About
MCMX MCMX
is a modern, fast-growing home services company based in Royal Oak. We build bathrooms and complete residential remodels for homeowners throughout Oakland and Macomb counties, and we're growing faster than we can currently staff the work. Every project is scoped before work begins, with hours, materials, photos, and tasks organized in the software we built ourselves. You know what you're walking into before day one, and your hours are captured as you work. We're building a serious remodeling operation, and the people we hire now will help shape what that becomes. We care about craftsmanship, professionalism, and treating the customer's home like it matters. The Role We're looking for a Senior Bathroom Remodeler who can take ownership of a bathroom from demo through completion. You should be capable of looking at a scope, understanding the sequence of work, and getting the job across the finish line without needing someone to manage every step. Our larger and higher-end projects will typically have two senior remodelers working together, with a helper when appropriate. Smaller projects may be assigned to you independently. You'll have support and training as you learn our systems, but the long-term goal is for you to be someone we can trust to take a project and run with it. This is a hands-on role. You will be doing the work yourself and taking pride in the finished product. And the finished product matters. Our work is often performed in high-end homes. The standard isn't simply that everything functions when we're finished. It needs to look right. What You'll Do Take bathrooms from demolition through final completion Execute the majority of the physical work required to complete a bathroom remodel Perform demolition, framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, flooring, painting, trim, fixture installation, and finish work as applicable to the project Read and follow project scopes and plans Manage the sequence of work to keep projects moving efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work area throughout the project Protect floors, surfaces, and belongings in occupied homes Identify issues or changes in scope early and communicate them to the Project Manager Document progress, completed work, materials, and time through MCMX's mobile software Complete your own punchlist and make sure the finished product meets MCMX's standards Work alongside other senior remodelers and helpers on larger projects Interact professionally with homeowners throughout the project You are not responsible for discussing pricing, change orders, or project costs with homeowners. Those conversations are handled by management. Your responsibility is to communicate professionally, keep the customer informed about the work itself, and make sure they feel confident that their home is being taken care of. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with real residential remodeling experience who has developed into a well-rounded, senior-level remodeler. Strong candidates will have experience with most of the following: Bathroom remodeling Demolition and preparation Framing and carpentry Drywall Plumbing Electrical Waterproofing Tile installation Flooring Painting Trim and finish carpentry Fixture installation General residential renovation Tile experience is a major plus and highly preferred. The ideal candidate can confidently handle tile layout and installation and understands the details that separate a good tile job from a great one. Experience with shower systems, waterproofing, niches, transitions, grout, and finish details is especially valuable. We are hiring two senior remodelers, and at least one of those hires will need to be highly experienced with tile. Craftsmanship Matters Technical ability is only part of what we're looking for. You should have a strong eye for detail and care about how the finished bathroom looks. You should notice things that are slightly out of alignment, sloppy transitions, poor finishes, or anything else that would keep you from putting your name on the work. You should also understand that working in someone's home requires a different level of care than working on an empty construction site.
That means:
Protecting the customer's home Keeping dust and debris controlled Maintaining a clean work area Treating finished surfaces carefully Communicating respectfully with homeowners Leaving the space cleaner than you found it We're looking for someone who only calls it good when it actually is. What Makes a Great Fit We care more about demonstrated capability and professionalism than an arbitrary number of years in the trade.
The right candidate will have:
A strong track record in residential remodeling Good tenure and a history of following through Experience working in higher-end homes or remodeling environments The ability to work independently when the project calls for it Good judgment about when to solve something yourself and when to escalate it A professional appearance and demeanor The ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality A willingness to learn MCMX's systems and standards Career progression is also important to us. We're looking for someone who wants to become a cornerstone of the remodeling side of the business, not someone looking for a temporary stop. Requirements Demonstrated experience in residential remodeling, with significant bathroom remodeling experience High-end residential remodeling experience strongly preferred Tile installation experience strongly preferred Valid and active driver's license Reliable personal vehicle suitable for getting to job sites and transporting tools A working set of personal hand and power tools appropriate for residential remodeling Ability and willingness to continue expanding your toolbox as needed Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying conditions Must be able to pass a background check Reliable attendance and strong follow-through Comfortable using a smartphone and mobile applications for work documentation Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday. No regular on-call rotation. Specific daily hours may vary based on the needs of the projects you're assigned to. What We Offer $30-35/hour , based on experience and demonstrated skill $180/quarter tool stipend $0.70/mile vehicle reimbursement PTO accrual starting immediately Paid major holidays starting immediately Full-time, steady work Hands-on training alongside experienced remodelers A growing pipeline of bathroom and residential remodeling projects Modern software and systems built around the work you actually do Opportunity to help shape and grow MCMX's remodeling division Where This Can Go We're building the bath remodeling division now, and the people who join us at this stage will have an opportunity to grow with it. The goal is to build a team of senior remodelers who can independently execute projects, take on increasingly complex work, and eventually help train and lead the next generation of MCMX remodelers. If you're highly skilled, professional, take pride in your work, and want to be part of building something rather than simply showing up to another job, we'd like to meet you.
