In this role, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall (also known as sheetrock) to create smooth, durable surfaces for interior walls and ceilings. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of residential projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your skills in drywall installation and finishing while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities Measure and cut drywall sheets accurately based on construction plans and schematics Install drywall panels on walls and ceilings using hand tools and power tools such as drills, screw guns, and saws Apply drywall mud (joint compound) for seamless finishing, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing techniques Repair damaged drywall or existing surfaces with precision to restore or improve appearance Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure proper installation Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate project tasks effectively Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper handling of tools and materials Qualifications Proven experience in drywall installation, drywall mudding, taping, texturing, and repair processes Strong knowledge of construction estimating and reading blueprints or schematics Familiarity with metal stud framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, flooring installation, and fixture installation is a plus Skilled in the use of hand tools such as knives, trowels, screwdrivers; power tools including drills and sanders; and specialized equipment like airless paint sprayers when applicable Understanding of construction plumbing, masonry, remodeling, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and caulking enhances versatility Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions on construction plans Commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times during project execution Construction site experience across residential or commercial projects is preferred Additional skills such as plastering, stucco application, tile laying, flooring installation or restoration industry experience are advantageous Join our team if you're passionate about creating flawless interiors through expert drywall craftsmanship!
