In this vital role, you will transform drywall surfaces into smooth, polished walls and ceilings that enhance the aesthetic and structural quality of residential, commercial, or restoration projects. Your expertise will ensure that each surface meets high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and durability. Duties Apply drywall compound (mud) using taping knives and trowels to achieve seamless joints and smooth surfaces Sand and finish drywall surfaces to prepare for painting or texturing, ensuring a high-quality finish Install drywall panels accurately according to construction plans and schematics, including cutting and fitting around fixtures and openings Perform drywall repair and patching on damaged or water-damaged surfaces with precision and attention to detail Texture walls and ceilings using various techniques such as spray texturing or hand-applied finishes to match project specifications Assist with metal stud framing, plastering, or other related carpentry tasks as needed on the job site Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper handling of power tools and hand tools Skills Strong knowledge of drywall installation, taping, mudding, sanding, texturing, and finishing techniques Ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately Experience with construction estimating processes and understanding project scopes Proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., taping knives, sanders) and power tools safely and effectively Familiarity with metal stud framing, fixture installation, door hanging, flooring installation, and caulking is a plus Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols at all times Skills in interpreting technical drawings for precise drywall placement and finishing details Experience in restoration industry practices such as water damage restoration or mold remediation is advantageous Ability to work efficiently on construction sites with a focus on quality craftsmanship in remodeling or new builds This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to hone their drywall finishing skills while contributing to high-quality construction projects.
