In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons on drywall installation, finishing techniques, safety procedures, and related trade skills. Your expertise will empower students to develop practical skills, understand industry standards, and confidently pursue careers in construction and finishing trades. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of skilled workers while promoting safety, quality craftsmanship, and professional growth. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive curriculum focused on drywall installation, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing techniques aligned with industry best practices. Deliver engaging classroom lessons and practical demonstrations to adult learners with diverse backgrounds. Incorporate safety protocols in accordance with OSHA regulations into all training modules. Evaluate student progress through assessments, hands-on projects, and performance feedback. Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing safety standards related to construction sites and equipment use. Collaborate with program coordinators to update training materials and incorporate new industry technologies such as programmable logic controllers or HVAC systems when relevant. Provide mentorship and support to students pursuing careers in construction, manufacturing, or related fields. Experience Proven experience in drywall installation, finishing, or related construction trades. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, welding, or HVAC/R systems is a plus. Previous teaching or adult education experience preferred; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and curriculum development for technical training programs. Hands-on experience with tools and equipment used in drywall work as well as related trades such as automotive diagnostics or aircraft maintenance is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse adult learners and foster an engaging learning environment. Knowledge of industry-specific technologies including programmable logic controllers or Blackboard learning management systems is beneficial.
