This role focuses on making sure walls are in plane, corners are level, and window and door reveals are consistent throughout the home. Key Responsibilities Check framed walls, corners, and openings for straight, plumb, and level using lasers, strings, and long straightedges.[deleers +1] Shim, plane, sand, or otherwise true studs and framing so all wall surfaces are in a single plane and ready for drywall, trim, and cabinetry. Adjust and fine‑tune window and door openings to achieve uniform, even reveals prior to trim installation. Coordinate with framers, drywall crews, and trim carpenters to identify and correct problem areas before finishes go in. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and use tools and equipment safely at all times. Required Skills and Experience Strong understanding of plumb, level, square, and how to bring walls into plane with shims or planing. Able to use lasers, levels, straightedges, planers, sanders, and other carpentry tools accurately and safely. High attention to detail and pride in creating flat walls, clean corners, and consistent reveals. Ability to work independently, stay productive, and communicate clearly with the superintendent and other trades. Physical Requirements Able to stand, bend, reach, and work on ladders for extended periods, and lift 50+ lbs as needed. Comfortable working in active construction environments and varying weather conditions.
