Painter/Drywall Finisher:

Responsibilities of the Painter/Drywall finisher: Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc. Measure and cut drywall for installation according to client specifications Install metal or wood framing, drywall sheets, or other materials to create walls or ceilings. Attach sheets to wall studs or metal frames Use trowels, knives, or other tools to apply joint compound or plaster to fill in gaps between pieces of drywall or woodwork. Smooth out rough surfaces using sandpaper, brushes, or other abrasive tools. Tape over joints between drywall pieces using paper or fiberglass mesh tape. Apply successive layers of compound until the desired smoothness is achieved. Prime and paint finished surfaces as necessary Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster) Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools Apply varnish and other finishes Follow instructions and examine surfaces Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions Requirements of the

Painter/Drywall Finished:

At least 5 years experience in Painting and Dry wall work Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted Excellent problem solving skills Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements Must be able to work on call for emergencies on weekends, evenings and holidays organization skills Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with arms, hands, fingers, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift 70 pounds, etc.
