In this vital role, you will transform rough drywall surfaces into polished, professional-looking walls and ceilings that enhance the aesthetic and structural integrity of commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help create inviting, finished spaces that meet high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Responsibilities Apply joint compound (mud) to drywall joints, seams, and screw holes to create a seamless surface ready for painting or finishing. Sand and smooth drywall surfaces to achieve a clean, even finish that meets project specifications. Install corner beads, trims, and other finishing accessories to enhance wall durability and appearance. Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute finishing details according to project plans. Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to ensure proper installation of drywall systems and related components. Perform touch-ups and repairs on drywall surfaces to address imperfections or damages during construction or restoration projects. Maintain safety standards on construction sites by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites with drywall finishing or related trades such as plastering or carpentry. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and reading blueprints or schematics. Hands-on knowledge of drywall installation techniques including metal stud framing, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and stucco application. Skilled in caulking, trim carpentry, door hanging, flooring installation, tile laying, masonry, and general remodeling tasks. Experience with restoration industry projects involving water damage repair or mold remediation is a plus. Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently in fast-paced construction environments. Knowledge of construction plumbing, airless paint spraying, fixture installation, metal stud framing, and construction painting is advantageous for comprehensive project support.
