Electrical Apprentice 1 (Aransas Pass, TX)

The electrical apprentice1 needs to assist the electrician with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site according to instructions Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools Trace out short circuits in wiring, using test meter Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals for subsequent soldering Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools Construct controllers and panels, using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws, and punches Assists in lifting, positioning, or fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches Perform daily maintenance and safety checks Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company's safety culture Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED required At least 3 to 5 years' experience in electrical apprentice Electrical apprentice license is required
