Project-based Job Summary:
The Skilled Laborer position is responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of equipment, racks, shelving, and floor markings in various field projects. The role involves working with tools to ensure accurate installations according to blueprints and project plans, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly and Installation:
Assemble and install racks, shelving, and other equipment according to instructions and technical drawings. Assemble workstations by following user manuals and assembly instructions. Ensure proper leveling and measurements using tools like tape measures, levels, and triangulation methods. •
Floor Markings and Painting:
Apply floor marking tapes and epoxy paint following project plans and specifications. Conduct precise measurements and triangulation to ensure floor demarcation accuracy. •
Tool Operation and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain various hand and power tools required for assembly and installation tasks, such as power drills, hammers, and paint application tools. Use equipment like rotary hammers to install protective guards and other structural elements. •
Labeling and Signage:
Install labels and signage at height on racks, shelving, and aisles, following safety protocols. •
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety and health regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Comply with site-specific safety rules and maintain adherence to legal safety standards. •
Teamwork and Communication:
Collaborate effectively with other team members to complete tasks and meet project deadlines. Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues regarding project updates and needs. Proactively identify and solve problems on-site, with a focus on delivering high quality work on the first attempt. Support inventory execution and stock organization tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. •
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in a similar role involving the assembly and installation of racks, shelving, and equipment in a warehouse or field environment. Prior experience with the operation of power tools and forklifts. •
Certifications:
A valid driver's license is required. Forklift operation training preferred Certification in working at heights required
IPAF/FLT
license and CSCS card preferred.
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D technical drawings and assembly instructions. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to lift up to 25kg (for men) or 15kg (for women), following safety standards. Basic skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (email communication). Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Performance Expectations:
Complete assigned tasks within the required deadlines. Maintain a high standard of quality Ensure a clean and organized work area Follow all safety protocols, aiming for zero incidents. Exhibit proactive problem-solving skills and resolve issues without supervisory intervention. Maintain perfect attendance and punctuality.
Work Environment:
This role involves physical tasks, including lifting and assembling equipment, working at heights, and using tools. The work environment may vary and includes both indoor and outdoor settings.
