Apprentice Electrician Office Location Schertz Customer Service Center 908 Curtiss Avenue Schertz, Texas 78154 What We Are Looking For GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Apprentice Electrician to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will be responsible for assisting electricians with installing and maintaining electrical power systems. Our Apprentice Electrician will work at construction sites, factories, businesses and residences. Apprentice Electricians also install Solar Arrays for photovoltaic systems. Your Pay The minimum starting pay for this role is $18.00/hr plus bonuses that are tied to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience. How You'll Help Install lighting, electrical outlets and circuit breakers Secure brackets to bulk heads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals Replace old fuse boxes Supply power for appliances Rewire homes and businesses Assist in whole home electrical inspections Understand and apply practical knowledge of different voltages Gain a firm understanding of both alternating current and direct current energy Experience/Skills You'll Need Must be able to climb ladders Must be able to work in tight spaces Ideal candidates should work well with others and the general public and possess the desire to provide the highest quality workmanship Position requires a great personality, positive attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly Flexible schedule High school diploma or equivalent Ability to lift items 50 pounds or greater Willingness to work at heights greater than 25 feet Preferred Experience/Skills High School electrical shop class or one year of electrical apprenticeship Our Purpose and Culture GVEC proudly provides Electric, Internet, HVAC, Solar and Battery Storage, and Electrician services in and around South-Central Texas.
