High School Diploma or Equivalent Epsilon Systems has an opening for a full time Trades Helper (LCAC) located in Portsmouth, VA.Summary:
The Trades Helper will perform tasks which require mainly physical abilities and effort involving minimal specialized skill.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances.
- Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks.
- Stacks materials for storage or binning.
- Collects refuse and salvageable materials.
- Moves and arranges heavy pieces of furniture, machinery, and/or equipment.
- Uses hand and powered tools of the trade to perform such tasks as cutting holes and cutting threads on piping.
- Supplies, lifts, and holds material, and tools for journey level workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
- General knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Own your own basic hand tools.
- General knowledge of work site/shipboard protocol.
- Willing to learn a new trade.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to US military and/or government installations.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.ADA Notations:
- Frequently handles heavy objects. Able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.
- Must have visual, manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, handle small objects.
- Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or hold objects.
- Works inside in areas that are usually dusty, dirty, or greasy and outside, sometimes in bad weather.
