Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure all electrical work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards (National Electrical Code), and safety procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including new construction, renovations, and high-voltage electrical systems, while contributing to safe and efficient electrical operations. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and local electrical codes. Diagnose complex electrical issues within industrial electrical systems using advanced troubleshooting techniques and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems, including low voltage circuits, control panels, and high-voltage components. Ensure all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards while maintaining a strong focus on electrical safety procedures to protect yourself and others on construction sites or renovation projects. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services during construction or renovation projects to coordinate electrical work seamlessly. Qualifications Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems. Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals accurately. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for troubleshooting electrical systems. Knowledge of local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards, NEC regulations, and high-voltage wiring practices. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on renovation projects or new builds involving industrial or commercial facilities. Ability to perform high-voltage wiring safely while adhering to all safety procedures related to electrical work. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing issues within complex electrical systems using advanced diagnostic techniques including PLCs. Additional experience in frame carpentry or handyman tasks is a plus but not required; a flexible approach to various construction-related responsibilities is valued.
