The electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment aboard vessels and within shipyard facilities, working from blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Core duties include:
Mounting conduit Pulling and threading wires Soldering terminals Installing components such as circuit breakers, voltage regulators, and switch panels. The role also involves connecting power circuits to navigation, communication, and electronic systems, as well as testing voltage, resistance, and phase characteristics using standard electrical meters. Some electricians may additionally construct and install instrument panels according to specifications
Requirements:
