QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Experience and/or State or Local License Preferred Current and complete Support Application on file Approved fingerprinting/background check Valid Alabama Driver's License Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL
To help maintain the physical school plants in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting, electrical equipment, fixtures, wiring, air conditioning and refrigeration units, and similar electric elements in the facilities owned or operated by the district. Consults with maintenance supervisor to determine which repair jobs can effectively be performed by TCBOE electricians and maintenance workers. Performs all electrical repair work in school district. Supports other maintenance workers to use proper methods and proper use of tools in electrical repair work. Consults with maintenance supervisor to recommend supplies and equipment for purchase. Works with other staff to maintain the inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and supplies. Estimates costs of electrical repair projects in terms of labor, material, and overhead. Examines district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance. Demonstrates ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a continuous basis. Demonstrates knowledge and practices proper safety procedures for self and others. Other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-Month Contract. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
