Electrical Apprentice Yuma, AZ 85367 From $18 an hour - Full-time, Apprenticeship From $18 an hour - Full-time, Apprenticeship Overview Join our dynamic team as an Electrical Apprentice and embark on an exciting journey into the world of electrical construction and maintenance! This paid apprenticeship offers a hands-on experience where you'll develop essential skills in electrical systems, wiring, blueprint reading, and safety protocols. Under the guidance of experienced electricians, you'll gain practical knowledge working on diverse projects across industrial, commercial, and construction sites. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to build a solid foundation in electrical work while contributing to impactful projects that power communities and industries. Duties Assist senior electricians in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on various construction sites and facilities. Help interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project requirements and ensure accurate wiring and installation. Use hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and power tools to perform wiring tasks efficiently and safely. Support the installation of low voltage systems including data cabling, security systems, and communication networks. Participate in testing electrical circuits with tools like ohmmeters to verify proper connections and system integrity. Learn to read and follow electrical schematics and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Assist with framing carpentry tasks related to electrical conduit supports or panel installations when needed. Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols related to high voltage and low voltage electrical work. Support the cleanup of work areas after completing tasks, ensuring tools and materials are organized for future use. Gain exposure to construction site processes including framing, conduit routing, wiring, and equipment installation under supervision. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework in electrical trades is a plus. Strong interest in electrical systems with a desire to learn hands-on skills in industrial and commercial settings. Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters is preferred. Experience or exposure to construction site environments is advantageous. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately. Knowledge of NEC standards related to residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work is beneficial. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail when following safety procedures. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors. Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces safely.
