Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both residential and commercial electrical work, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively. This role requires expertise in handling various electrical systems, including high and low voltage applications, while ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for performing installations, repairs, and maintenance on electrical systems across various construction sites. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential settings. Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of wiring systems. Ensure compliance with NEC standards during all electrical work. Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to complete projects efficiently. Perform renovations and upgrades to existing electrical systems as needed. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations. Qualifications Proven experience as a residential electrician or commercial electrician. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to electrical work. Strong understanding of low voltage and high voltage systems. Familiarity with frame carpentry is a plus. Previous construction site experience is highly desirable. Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately. Experience with maintenance person tasks is an advantage. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
