Electrical Foreman (Solar Carport Projects) Job Description The electrical foreman leads the installation, wiring, and commissioning of solar carport systems for commercial projects. This role ensures all electrical work complies with NEC standards, project specifications, and safety requirements while coordinating closely with site leadership, other trades, and crew members across two active sites in Scottsdale over a multi-month project timeline. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test electrical wiring for photovoltaic (PV) systems, including conduit, wire pulls, disconnects, combiner boxes, and inverters. Read and interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, and site drawings to execute work accurately and efficiently. Perform layout and installation of underground and overhead conduit runs associated with solar carport structures. Complete AC and DC terminations, grounding, bonding, and equipment mounting in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Assist with inverter startup, system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities to ensure proper system performance. Coordinate daily activities with foremen, superintendents, and other trades to maintain project schedule, quality standards, and safety expectations. Ensure full compliance with NEC, OSHA, and project-specific safety protocols at all times. Mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians to support their development and enhance overall crew productivity. Monitor work areas for safe practices, proper tool use, and adherence to site rules and procedures. Document work performed as required by project guidelines and support punch list and closeout activities. Essential Skills 5+ years of electrical experience in a commercial or industrial setting. Proficiency with conduit installation and conduit bending for both underground and overhead runs. Strong experience in electrical construction, including installation of wiring, disconnects, combiner boxes, and inverters. Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, and site drawings. Hands-on experience completing AC and DC terminations, grounding, bonding, and equipment mounting to code. Ability to assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical or PV systems. Solid understanding of NEC requirements and practical application on job sites. Commitment to working safely in compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety protocols. Capability to work outdoors, at heights, and around heavy equipment. Ability to mentor apprentices and collaborate effectively with site leadership and other trades. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience with solar installations or PV systems is a strong plus. Experience working on commercial building projects, particularly carport or similar structural installations. Strong communication skills to coordinate with foremen, superintendents, and multi-trade crews. Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and project priorities across multiple locations. Work Environment This role is entirely field-based in an outdoor commercial environment, working on solar installations mounted on carports at two sites in Scottsdale over a 3-4 month period. You will work around heavy equipment and active construction activities, frequently at heights and in varying weather conditions. The position involves physical tasks such as handling conduit, pulling wire, and installing equipment on carport structures. Work hours follow typical construction schedules and require consistent adherence to site safety rules, use of personal protective equipment, and appropriate workwear suitable for an active construction site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Scottsdale, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
