This position is designed specifically for individuals who need flexible work that fits around their schedule while providing real-world exposure to the commercial electrical industry. Instead of working another retail or delivery job, you'll gain valuable field experience and build relationships with an electrical contractor that is continually growing. What is an NPI? An Night Proof Inspection (NPI) is a nighttime inspection of commercial properties to identify exterior lighting that is not operating properly. Using your own vehicle, you'll drive assigned commercial properties after dark while recording each property with a provided 360° camera. You'll also learn how to identify lighting outages, recognize common fixture failures, and accurately document issues for our service department. After your route is complete, you'll upload your inspection videos from home so our team can prepare repair proposals for customers. No electrical work is performed during these inspections. Who This Position is Perfect for Flexible schedule Typically one evening per week Gain real-world commercial electrical experience Learn how lighting systems are inspected and documented Work independently with minimal supervision Build relationships with a growing electrical contractor Opportunity to transition into a full-time position Responsibilities Complete assigned Night Proof Inspection routes Drive designated commercial properties after dark Record inspections using a provided 360° camera Identify and document lighting outages and deficiencies Upload completed inspection videos from home Communicate professionally with the AET team Represent the company in a professional manner Requirements Currently enrolled in an electrical trade school or apprenticeship program (preferred) Reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle Valid Arizona driver's license Current auto insurance Clean driving record Comfortable using a smartphone and tablet Dependable, organized, and self-motivated Compensation Up to $17.00 - $20.00 per hour while performing inspections Mileage reimbursement of $0.35 per mile Additional paid upload time of 10 minutes per completed inspection video Weekly direct deposit Independent Contractor (1099) Most NPI Technicians complete a single evening route each week and receive compensation through a combination of hourly pay, mileage reimbursement, and paid upload time.
