Location:
Bakersfield, CA and surrounding Kern County areas
Pay:
$30-$35 per hour for non-carded electricians $35-$45 per hour for carded electricians Final pay will be based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated skill level. Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Residential Journeyman Electrician with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate must be able to independently troubleshoot both common and uncommon residential electrical issues and determine safe, effective solutions. Most of our work is residential and includes electrical troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and main electrical panel upgrades. We perform panel upgrades involving Southern California Edison (SCE) and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) throughout Bakersfield, Kern County, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair residential electrical problems Troubleshoot complex and uncommon electrical issues Perform residential electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades Complete main electrical panel upgrades Coordinate work involving SCE and PG&E requirements Read and interpret electrical plans, diagrams, and specifications Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards Clearly communicate findings and recommended repairs Work independently and manage assigned jobs efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Travel to job sites throughout Kern County and surrounding areas Qualifications Extensive residential electrical experience required Journeyman-level knowledge and skills Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Experience with residential main panel upgrades Familiarity with SCE and PG&E panel upgrade requirements preferred Ability to identify electrical problems and recommend appropriate solutions Strong understanding of electrical codes and safe work practices Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required California electrical certification/card preferred but not required We are looking for an electrician who takes pride in their work, can think through difficult electrical problems, and is committed to completing every job safely and correctly.
