Job Title:
Industrial Maintenance Electrician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment with a strong emphasis on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will use your hands-on experience in a plant environment to keep production running safely and efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Perform advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance. Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled systems, including basic PLC troubleshooting as needed. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to identify faults and plan repairs. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment used in stamping and welding operations. Inspect, troubleshoot, replace, and repair machine components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, spindles, valves, gears, switches, and bearings. Draw and interpret start/stop switch diagrams to support wiring, installation, and troubleshooting activities. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and improve reliability. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions. Follow safety procedures and best practices to maintain a safe work environment and protect equipment and personnel. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately for future reference and continuous improvement. Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) efforts by sharing ideas to enhance equipment performance, safety, and efficiency. Essential Skills 5-6 years of experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial equipment and systems. Hands-on experience with mechanical troubleshooting and repair in a production setting. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment at a basic to intermediate level. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Proven ability to troubleshoot, replace, and repair machine components including cylinders, pumps, motors, spindles, valves, gears, switches, and bearings. Ability to draw and understand start/stop switch diagrams for troubleshooting and wiring. Experience in industrial manufacturing operations, preferably in areas such as stamping and welding. Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures and guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal technical schooling or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or a related field is preferred. Experience working in stamping and welding departments or similar heavy manufacturing environments. Familiarity with continuous improvement (Kaizen) principles and practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a respectful, team-oriented environment. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues. Work Environment This position is based in an industrial manufacturing facility, primarily supporting the stamping and welding departments. You will rotate through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, typically spending 2 to 3 months on each shift based on operational needs. The work involves hands-on maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment in a high-volume delivery environment. Safety procedures are emphasized, and you will work with standard industrial tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment while collaborating closely with production and maintenance teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.74 - $42.49/hr.
