Position Summary The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for executing electrical installations, repairs, and service work on high-end residential and light commercial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Journeymen are expected to uphold Totally Wired Electric's quality standards and represent the company professionally on job sites. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including panels, conduits, circuits, lighting, receptacles, and specialty systems. Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and company safety standards. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently. Coordinate with Foremen, Project Managers, and apprentices to complete tasks on schedule. Mentor and train apprentices, ensuring proper technique and safety practices. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area. Document work performed and communicate project status to supervisors. Represent the company with professionalism in interactions with clients, builders, and inspectors. Qualifications & Skills Active California Journeyman Electrician certification (or equivalent). Minimum 4+ years of electrical field experience. Strong knowledge of NEC and California electrical codes. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Proficiency with standard electrical tools and equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and client satisfaction. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments (indoor, outdoor, crawlspaces, attics). Comfortable working on active construction sites with changing conditions. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods. Success in this Role Looks Like Projects completed on time, on budget, and to company quality standards. Apprentices mentored and progressing in their trade skills. Zero safety violations and proactive hazard awareness. Positive relationships with clients, team members, and supervisors.
