The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of solar electrical systems, NEC requirements, conduit installation, inverter connections, and field troubleshooting while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Candidates must be willing and able to travel outside of county lines for project assignments that require overnight stays for up to two weeks at a time. Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects. Perform electrical work including conduit runs, wiring, terminations, disconnects, breakers, combiner boxes, and inverter installations. Install and connect photovoltaic modules, inverters, batteries, ESS systems, and related equipment. Interpret electrical plans, single-line diagrams, construction drawings, and specifications. Perform system testing, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews to ensure project schedules are maintained. Ensure installations comply with NEC requirements, local codes, utility requirements, and company standards. Support inspections with AHJs and utility representatives. Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in the field. Complete required project documentation, punch items, and closeout tasks. Maintain jobsite safety and comply with all company safety policies and procedures. Assist with service calls, warranty work, and system repairs as needed. Travel to project sites as required. Qualifications Current California Residential Electrician Certification or California General Electrician (Journeyman) Certification is required. Candidates who do not possess one of these certifications will not be considered for this position. Minimum 3+ years of solar electrical experience. Experience with both commercial and residential solar installations required.
Strong knowledge of:
Solar PV systems NEC requirements AC/DC wiring Inverters and ESS systems Conduit bending and installation Electrical troubleshooting and commissioning Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, and single-line diagrams. Experience with service upgrades, panel work, disconnects, and load centers preferred. Familiarity with battery storage systems and backup power installations preferred. Ability to work at heights, rooftops, ladders, and active construction sites. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation required. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience with: Commercial rooftop systems Multifamily solar projects Battery storage / ESS installations Service and troubleshooting work Utility interconnection processes Prevailing wage and public works projects

$40.00 - $70.00 per hour
