In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team through installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. Your expertise will help ensure that building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with blueprints and schematics and that jobs are completed on time and within proper guidelines. This position requires the ability to work independently or in team settings while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and productivity. The Journeyman Electrician may assist in directing and training apprentices and helpers on assigned projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage a team though installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, wiring, equipment, fixtures, and controls Train and mentor apprentice electricians and helpers Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, specifications, and construction documents Install conduit, raceways, cable trays, wiring systems, panels, switchgear, lighting, and electrical devices while ensuring all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards Perform electrical testing, diagnostics, and system commissioning Troubleshoot electrical problems and determine appropriate corrective actions Coordinate work activities with project managers, foremen, inspectors, general contractors, and other trades Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and specialty electrical tools safely and effectively Work in compliance with safety and cleanliness standards and job site requirements to comply with all company safety policies and procedures Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and project progress Required Qualifications Current Journeyman Electrician license or certification as required by state or local regulations 4+ years of commercial or industrial electrical installation and maintenance experience. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical codes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Proficient in electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques Demonstrates professionalism with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and coworkers Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record Ability to lead a team to deliver on expectations Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various job site conditions Preferred Qualifications Experience in fire protection systems (NFPA standards knowledge a plus) Commercial and industrial electrical experience OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience with motor controls, switchgear, generators, and backup power systems Experience with low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, access control, and data cabling Experience operating aerial lifts, forklifts, or other construction equipment
