Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Electrical Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems for both residential and commercial customers. This role requires technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to mentor apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and Service Electrical Equipment:
Install electrical wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, circuit-breaker panels, and other electrical systems. Service and repair malfunctioning electrical equipment, such as alarm systems and lighting systems, for residential and commercial properties.
Troubleshoot and Diagnose Issues:
Conduct thorough evaluations of electrical systems during service calls. Apply experience and technical knowledge to identify and implement solutions to restore systems to full functionality.
Promote and Maintain Safety Standards:
Adhere to all industry and company safety standards. Use appropriate safety equipment and implement safety procedures on all jobs.
Complete and Maintain Paperwork:
Compile and complete all necessary paperwork, including job reports, invoices, and documentation of services performed.
Train and Mentor Apprentices:
Provide guidance and training to apprentices, supporting their growth and development in the trade. Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by leadership. Competencies This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude. The position also requires the ability to read blueprints, extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring, the ability to use hand tools and power tools, proficiency in the use of test meters and diagnostic equipment. Education and Experience This position requires a minimum three (3) years of previous electrical experience and the completion of a formal apprenticeship. Requires a high school diploma and/or any equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job. Must have a valid driver's license and remain insurable under our company insurance policy.
