Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Systems Technician to join our growing team. This role focuses primarily on the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of 12V and 120V electrical systems in custom adventure vans, including lithium battery systems, solar charging, stereo systems, exterior lighting, vehicle accessories, and off-grid power solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical and low-voltage systems and be comfortable performing plumbing, carpentry, and general build tasks as part of a collaborative team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in automotive electrical, car audio, marine, RV, solar, low-voltage, or construction industries who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in creating high-quality custom vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Install interior and exterior lighting, outlets, appliances, roof fans, heaters, air conditioners, water pumps, refrigerators, and other electrical components. Install and wire complete 12V and 120V electrical systems in custom adventure vans. Install and configure lithium battery systems, inverters, chargers, solar systems, DC-DC chargers, secondary alternators, fuse panels, circuit protection devices, and electrical accessories. Build and terminate custom wiring harnesses using professional-grade crimping, routing, labeling, and wire management practices. Install and configure advanced vehicle monitoring and control systems including touchscreens, battery monitoring, switching systems, and remote connectivity solutions. Install and troubleshoot premium stereo systems including amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, DSPs, head units, and vehicle integration modules. Install and wire interior and exterior lighting systems including scene lights, roof lights, ditch lights, work lights, underbody lighting, dimmable lighting circuits, and programmable lighting controls. Install and integrate aftermarket vehicle accessories such as winches, air compressors, power steps, rooftop accessories, Starlink systems, security systems, GPS tracking, camera systems, and accessory control modules. Troubleshoot electrical issues and verify proper system operation through testing and commissioning. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and build plans. Collaborate with other builders to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to Live a Little Vans quality standards. Assist with plumbing system installations including fresh water, gray water, filtration systems, water heaters, pumps, valves, and related components. Perform cabinetry installation, interior finish work, and light carpentry tasks as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Assist with inventory management and organization of electrical components, tools, and supplies. Contribute to continuous improvement of shop processes and build standards.
Qualifications Previous electrical installation experience required. Experience with 12V DC electrical systems. Experience in marine, RV, automotive, solar, low-voltage, or residential/commercial electrical work is highly desirable. Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical systems. Familiarity with Victron, Xantrex, EcoFlow, Epoch, Battle Born, or similar power systems is a plus. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Basic plumbing and carpentry skills preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hands-on shop environment.
