An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description

Overview:
Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Welding Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines. The successful candidate will repair three phase 240-480 volt, panels and cables required. Knowledge and ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams. Knowledge and familiarization of induction preheat. Work assignments accomplished within various company documents, policies, procedures and forms. Work conditions will include entry in restricted areas, radiological, confined spaces and high elevations.

Required:
HS Diploma or Ged OR 2 or more years of related technical experience. 0 - 5 years of experience Must have the ability to distinguish between colors for the purpose of performing the job
Preferred:
3+ years' experience in the electrical maintenance field.
Skills:
Mechanical ability to repair and rebuild required Pre Heat equipment
