Job Title:
Electrical Helper Job Description The Electrical Helper supports commercial electrical projects by assisting with conduit work, fixture installation, wiring, troubleshooting, and reading blueprints. This role works closely with a small team of electricians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical installations on local job sites. Responsibilities Assist with bending electrical conduit and installing conduit runs according to project specifications and electrical codes. Install light fixtures and other electrical fixtures under the direction of licensed electricians. Pull electrical wire and cable, including MC and BX cable, through conduit and other pathways. Read and interpret electrical blueprints and prints to understand layouts, circuits, and installation requirements. Support troubleshooting of electrical systems, circuits, and components to identify and help resolve issues. Assist with wiring commercial outlets and other commercial electrical devices. Help with the installation, labeling, and organization of electrical panels. Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Work collaboratively with a team of electricians and a foreman to complete tasks on schedule. Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools, materials, and equipment. Essential Skills Hands-on experience bending electrical conduit (bending pipe) for commercial installations. Experience pulling electrical wire and working with MC cable and BX cable. Ability to install electrical fixtures, including light fixtures, in commercial environments. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and prints. Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and components. Experience wiring commercial outlets and assisting with panel work. OSHA 30 certification. Ability to follow safety protocols and use PPE correctly. Capability to work effectively as part of a team of electricians under the direction of a foreman. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on commercial construction projects. Familiarity with installing and working in electrical panels. Interest in growing into a junior or lead mechanic role over time. Strong work ethic and reliability, with a focus on long-term employment. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions on construction sites. Why Work Here? The environment is hands-on and team-oriented, with a focus on safety, collaboration, and consistent, high-quality electrical work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yaphank, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
