Job Title:
Facilities Electrician Job Description The Facilities Maintenance Electrician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems within R D facilities. This includes troubleshooting electrical issues, installing new wiring or fixtures, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, the role involves managing maintenance schedules, planning and executing complex electrical projects, collaborating with other departments, and providing expertise in troubleshooting intricate electrical issues across all main East Bay and Peninsula locations. Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical equipment utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Operate, diagnose, analyze, and repair industrial equipment such as boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, pumps, chillers, air handling units, electric doors, overhead cranes, and exhaust ventilation systems. Self-direct with the ability to be resourceful, plan, and organize work. Perform daily general maintenance duties such as preventive maintenance, trouble calls, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned. Occasionally work on projects running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting devices utilizing lifts and ladders. Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems. Develop equipment SOPs and Preventive Maintenance programs. Experience in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC. Strong knowledge of switchgears, troubleshooting motor controls, drives, and electronic components. Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics; understanding of Drives and PLC is a plus. Experience with CMMS software. Essential Skills Minimum 7+ years of related work experience as an Industrial or Facilities Electrician. Ability to use hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment. Foreman Electrician Certification (ETC, IMI, EMT). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electrical, facilities maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, wiring, conduit, lighting, schematic, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building maintenance, facility maintenance, and industrial systems. Work Environment Work at offsite locations in Palo Alto, Fremont, and Hayward, with each facility having a home location. The buildings operate 24/7, with schedules from Monday to Friday. Must be open to working on weekends. The facility is non-union, with casual work attire and some uniforms provided for engineers. Available shifts include one from 6 am to 3 pm open to all days, including weekends, and another from 10 pm to 6:30 am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
