Job Description

Job Overview About A&M Manufacturing A&M Manufacturing, Inc. is the leading name in commercial fiberglass pontoon manufacturing, based in Alachua, Florida. We engineer and build semi-custom, full-composite COI-certified passenger vessels including party boats, tiki boats, sightseeing and wildlife tour boats, water taxis, and double-decker ferries that operate in salt and freshwater environments nationwide. Our Bulldog hull series (30-53 ft) and Double Decker vessels are built to the highest commercial standards and must meet rigorous U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection (COI) requirements. Every boat that leaves our facility reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and longevity. Position Summary A&M Manufacturing is seeking an elite Certified Marine Electrician to join our production team. You will be responsible for the complete design, installation, commissioning, and quality inspection of all electrical systems across our commercial passenger vessel line, from bare hull to final sea trial. Every system must comply with ABYC standards, U.S. Coast Guard commercial vessel regulations (46 CFR Subchapter T), and A&M's internal quality benchmarks. Your wiring must perform flawlessly and look like artwork. Operators bet their businesses on these boats, and the electrical system is the backbone of every vessel we deliver. Key Responsibilities Design, install, and commission complete AC and DC electrical systems on commercial passenger vessels from 30 feet and upwards. Read, interpret, and build from electrical schematics and one-line diagrams; contribute to wiring documentation and as-built drawings. Ensure all work complies with ABYC standards, 46 CFR Subchapter T (commercial vessels under 100 GT), and all applicable USCG regulations. Install and fully integrate all onboard electrical systems, including: o Multi-engine outboard/inboard electrical rigging and integration o Shore power (120V/240V AC) systems, GFCI protection, and galvanic isolators o Commercial-grade battery banks, charging systems, and smart alternator integration o Garmin and Simrad MFD networks, VHF/AIS communications, and full

Terminate all wiring to marine-grade standards: tinned wire, heat-shrink connectors, anti-chafe routing, and proper strain relief throughout. Conduct pre-delivery systems commissioning and sea trial verification of all electrical systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using professional instruments; document root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain organized records:
work orders, system logs, commissioning checklists, and warranty documentation. Uphold A&M's zero-defect quality standard on every build, every time. Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of hands-on marine electrical experience, commercial vessel experience strongly preferred.
