In this role, you will be responsible for independently scoping, specifying, and executing a wide range of residential electrical upgrades and repairs. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, prioritizes strict adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Florida Building Code (FBC), and is committed to proactively identifying and mitigating electrical hazards in residential properties.
Core Responsibilities Project Scoping & Estimation:
Accurately assess site conditions, evaluate power requirements, and spec residential electrical jobs from initial assessment to final execution.
Material Procurement & Planning:
Autonomously generate complete, accurate material lists for major structural upgrades, including residential breaker panel replacements, main service box installations, and electrical meter socket box replacements.
Circuit Installation:
Expertly plan, route, and run new circuits through existing residential structures with minimal disruption to the property.
Technical Calculations:
knowledge of wire gauge size to amperage ratios to ensure the correct sizing of all electrical components. Accurately calculate conduit fill capacities to ensure legal and safe wire installations by size and type.
Code Compliance & Safety:
Ensure uncompromising adherence to the NEC and FBC. Assess older residential structures to identify improperly sized components and execute upgrades that proactively prevent fire hazards.
Field Accountability:
Maintain exceptional time management, guaranteeing arrival on-site and full readiness for the first call of the day no later than 8:30 AM.
Communication:
Clearly explain technical issues, safety hazards, and proposed solutions to both homeowners and internal management.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensing:
Must hold a valid, current Journeyman Electrician License Driving license: must be valid and clean
Experience:
Proven field experience at least 3 years , specializing in residential electrical service, panel upgrades, and troubleshooting (tracing shorts, grounding issues, and phantom loads).
Technical Competency:
Deep understanding of load calculations, circuit balancing, and local building codes.
Professionalism:
A strong track record of punctuality, accountability, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Safety Gear:
Commitment to wearing proper PPE and strictly following all occupational safety guidelines. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials regularly. Comfortable working in various residential environments, including attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor utility areas. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work on ladders for extended periods.
