Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. The Electrician Technician reports to the Electrical Department Supervisor. Responsibilities include electrical maintenance duties, controls troubleshooting and administrative processes as they relate to the electrical/maintenance department. This position works closely with various levels of employees to ensure the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of the plant is maintained and optimized properly to ensure efficient processing and maximum uptime. Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes Maintenance and repair of electrical systems across the organization Troubleshooting electrical issues PLC maintenance and Troubleshooting Reading and understanding mechanical plans and wiring diagrams Work according to project timelines and required processes Oversee or perform general housekeeping Assist activities of outside contractors working on assigned line(s) Work independently (under limited supervision) Review controls documentation and installation plans Advises Electrical Department Supervisor of electrical/mechanical problems and suggests solutions. Follow safety and work procedures. Requirements Completed degree in a relevant field highly preferred, HS Degree required Minimum of 3 years' experience working with industrial electrical systems PLC Education/Experience servicing programmable logic systems with Siemens PLC experience preferred.
