POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Traveling Industrial Electrician to join our field team. This position is home-based in Palm Bay, Florida, with extensive travel (70-80%) to industrial job sites across North America. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex industrial electrical systems. All travel expenses, including lodging, transportation, and per diem, are fully covered by the company. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional who enjoys variety, travel, and hands-on industrial work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems including power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and instrumentation Proficiently bend, cut, and install EMT conduit to exact specifications on active industrial sites Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings; create accurate material take-offs for projects Perform voltage drop calculations, conductor derating, and load calculations to ensure code-compliant installations Safely operate aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and other elevated work platforms for overhead electrical work Install and terminate low voltage control wiring, PLC I/O, sensors, and communication cabling (preferred experience) Work on conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and packaging machinery (experience a strong plus) Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; follow all
OSHA, NFPA
70E, and site-specific safety protocols Travel to job sites across the U.S. and Canada; remain on-site for up to 4 consecutive weeks per assignment while maintaining high productivity and professionalism
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an industrial electrician or in a similar field service role Expert-level proficiency in bending and installing EMT conduit Strong ability to read electrical prints and generate precise material take-offs Competent in performing voltage drop and derate calculations Demonstrated experience operating aerial lifts and working at heights safely Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no accidents or violations in the past 5 years) Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening (customers require this for site access) Willingness and ability to travel 70-80% of the time, including multi-week deployments across North America Reliable, drug-free, and safety-focused professional with strong work ethic and attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience installing, aligning, and troubleshooting conveyor systems and material handling equipment Hands-on experience with low voltage controls, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial networking OSHA 10 or 30 certification; aerial lift certification; arc flash training
