Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code). Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems, including low voltage and high-voltage wiring. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installations and repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify issues swiftly and effectively. Perform electrical wiring on new installations and renovations in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes. Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete electrical work efficiently on construction sites or during maintenance projects. Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 compliance guidelines and electrical safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Troubleshoot complex electrical systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial electrical systems, and high-voltage wiring. Read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately to guide installation or repair processes. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards. Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, modifications, and compliance documentation. Qualifications Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong background in industrial electrical systems. Demonstrated expertise in industrial electrician tasks such as high-voltage wiring, troubleshooting electrical systems, reading blueprints, and working with PLCs. Knowledge of local electrical codes (including NEC) and NFPA 70 standards for safe electrical practices. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing equipment. Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects within commercial or industrial environments. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately. Skilled in using hand tools like wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers along with power tools necessary for electrical work. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to prevent hazards during installation or maintenance activities. Excellent troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex issues within low voltage or high-voltage systems. Valid electrician license or certification as required by local jurisdiction; additional certifications related to industrial or commercial electrical work are preferred.
