This is a hands-on leadership position for an electrician who can successfully run projects while actively working alongside the crew. You will oversee your assigned projects and assist on other projects between lead assignments. Responsibilities As a Traveling Lead Electrician, you will: Lead electrical installations on large retail construction and remodel projects Remain actively on the tools while directing and supporting your crew Coordinate manpower, materials, schedules, and daily production Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project schedules Install and troubleshoot branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, panels, electrical equipment, and related systems Communicate professionally with project managers, customers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades Maintain high standards for safety, workmanship, productivity, and jobsite documentation Ensure installations comply with the National Electrical Code and applicable local requirements Assist on other company projects between assigned lead projects Adapt to changing schedules, working hours, and short-notice remobilizations Qualifications At least 5 years of commercial electrical construction experience Proven experience leading crews and successfully completing electrical projects Ability to manage large, complex projects valued at $500,000 or more Strong knowledge of electrical installations, troubleshooting, and code requirements Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings Strong working knowledge of conduit installation, wire pulling, terminations, lighting systems, and power distribution Valid driver's license with a good, insurable driving record Ability to travel continuously and work nights, weekends, and overtime as required Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, and work from step and extension ladders Low-voltage experience, including Cat5e and Cat6 cabling and terminations, is preferred but not required Travel Requirements This is a 100% travel position involving overnight and extended assignments throughout the United States. Candidates must be comfortable traveling continuously and adjusting to changes in project locations, schedules, and working hours-sometimes with short notice.
