This position is responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of commercial electrical systems and equipment across a variety of facilities including office buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial plants, government facilities, retail centers, and institutional properties. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who can work independently, communicate effectively with customers, and provide solutions that keep critical building systems operating safely and efficiently. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a customer-first attitude, and the ability to identify opportunities to improve system reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities Electrical Service & Troubleshooting Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial electrical systems and equipment. Service electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, control circuits, motor controls, disconnects, panels, transformers, and related equipment. Troubleshoot electrical failures using meters, testing equipment, and diagnostic tools. Perform repairs and replacements on electrical components and systems. Respond to service calls and emergency requests in a professional and timely manner. Inspect equipment and identify safety concerns, code violations, and potential system failures. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and testing on commercial electrical systems. Support HVAC, plumbing, and controls personnel with electrical troubleshooting as required. Ability to understand and navigate the NEC and NFPA70 Ability to bend conduit and install electrical equipment per code Ability to size conductors, overcurrent devices, and conduit Ability to estimate materials for small projects. Customer Service Serve as the primary field representative for MEP Contractors during service visits. Communicate equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and project status clearly to customers. Build strong customer relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and quality workmanship. Identify opportunities for additional repairs, upgrades, energy improvements, and preventative maintenance agreements. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction on every service call. Documentation & Reporting Complete accurate service reports, work orders, inspection reports, and daily time entries. Document troubleshooting procedures, repairs performed, and recommended corrective actions. Record labor hours, materials used, and equipment information accurately. Maintain compliance with company documentation standards and customer requirements. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer site-specific safety requirements. Perform all work in compliance with applicable electrical codes and industry standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Participate in ongoing safety and technical training programs. Vehicle & Inventory Management Maintain company service vehicle in a clean and professional condition. Manage truck inventory and maintain stock of commonly used service materials. Track and order parts needed for service repairs and maintenance activities. Ensure proper care and maintenance of company-issued tools and equipment. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of commercial electrical service experience. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Experience servicing commercial electrical systems and equipment. Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, lighting controls, motor controls, and power systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications. Strong customer service and communication skills. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing. Preferred Journeyman Electrician License. Experience with generators, transfer switches, VFDs, controls, and building automation systems.\ Experience working in commercial, industrial, healthcare, government, or institutional facilities. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
