The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively on various projects. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in both residential and commercial settings. The Journeyman Electrician will ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and uphold safety standards while delivering high-quality workmanship. We work 4 x 10 hour days with potential work on Fridays. Duties Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with NEC standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems. Perform troubleshooting using tools such as an ohmmeter to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including frame carpenters and commercial plumbers, to complete projects. Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently while adhering to local building codes and regulations. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or necessary repairs. Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced electricians as needed. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license with 5 plus years commercial experience. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics related to electrical installations. Experience in both residential and commercial electrical work is preferred; industrial electrician experience is a plus. Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety standards in the electrical field. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills. Must possess basic maintenance person skills for general maintenance tasks related to electrical installations.
