Job Description

Job Title:
Maintenance Electrician Job Description The Maintenance Electrician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and services equipment that supports daily production floor operations. This role focuses heavily on working with motors, including those used for large garage doors, and ensures that all electrical and mechanical systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in a demanding industrial environment. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems that support production floor operations. Troubleshoot electrical issues, including problems with motors used for garage doors and other production-related equipment. Perform electrical repairs on industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and safe operation. Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, and related components. Conduct routine inspections of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure. Use electrical and mechanical tools and test equipment to identify faults and verify proper operation after repairs. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work orders and support continuous operations. Follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices while working on electrical and mechanical equipment. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with facility standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care. Essential Skills At least 6 months of maintenance experience in an industrial or similar environment. At least 6 months of electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment. At least 6 months of hydraulic experience, including basic diagnosis and repair. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, and control components. Ability to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on production equipment. Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Capability to work safely and effectively in a hot environment, including temperatures of 100+ degrees. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose issues quickly under time-sensitive conditions. Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in an industrial production or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic repair techniques and tools. Comfort working independently and as part of a maintenance team. Willingness to work second shift hours from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial production facility where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees, especially during the summer months. The position operates on a second shift schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., supporting ongoing production activities. The work involves frequent interaction with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, requiring adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate tools and test instruments. The dress code allows jeans or shorts, with a neon work shirt provided, and tennis shoes as standard footwear, reflecting a practical and safety-conscious environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Council Bluffs, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.78 - $27.78/hr.
